Mini update March 2021

Dear parents and carers,

Here is a quick update for you.

We welcomed back Mrs Harding from furlough at the beginning of the month and now Mrs Bishop will be on furlough for the rest of March. In April it is Mrs Hayes’ turn to be furloughed. We will miss each staff member but please be assured that all the children are known by all staff.

Fun playing & learning

We are enjoying lots of messy play & Easter fun. The children have made palm leaves, Easter crosses, baby chicks etc. and we are having fun with paint! We are learning 2 Easter songs and will sing them (possibly we will record them & share them with you, song words are attached).

The Rainbows have enjoyed some observational drawings of flowers using chalks & pastels. This week we have been tasting fruit and looking at the seeds.

The Sunshines are enjoying shop play and cars / garages and have had fun making Easter crafts.

Parent reviews & keeping in touch

We are half way through parent reviews as I write this and it is great to hear your feedback about the children’s progress.

We are also aiming to send more regular photos of your child at Little Stars.  Please do ask to chat to a staff member if you want any more information about your child – we love to talk J

Extra afternoon sessions

These sessions have been great fun and a few children joined our regular children. I am very excited about the ‘Dough Disco’ this Thursday!!

We will monitor the success of these and will possibly do some more in May.

Staff Covid testing

All staff that are able to, are doing lateral flow testing once / twice per week to help keep us all safe & covid free. Staff undertake this in their own time, so a huge thanks to them all.

Please note our last day this term is Thursday 1st April and then we are open for children again on Tuesday 20th April. Staff will be training on Monday 19th as we have a lot to update ourselves on regarding Covid, curriculum and much more.

Please support us by sharing our details / website/ facebook page etc. with family & friends who might be looking for a preschool place next year (Sept onwards). We have leaflets here if you would like any to pass on.

Chatter Matters week

We have been doing lots of fun activities to support the chidren’s listening skills in preparation for understanding & speech. Lots of parachute games with ‘Ready, Steady, go!’

Bags 2 school – raised £55 thank you for your help!

Thanks for your prompt payments of invoices –  this is much appreciated.
